I don’t think Impulse showed Wally up at all. It was Wally and Jay who saved Barry and Bart’s lives. Or did you miss that? The fact that we got a little humor out of Wally’s frustration and Bart’s arrogance doesn’t rise to the level you’re indicating, at least not in my opinion….

Don’t kid yourself, the main reason people were so crazy about Wally’s death was Spitfire, nothing more nothing less. I can tell you with near complete certainly that if Wally had received a big plotline but Spitfire did not happen that his Death would have promoted no where as large an outcry.

Yes if the character has no real core conflict or anything focused on they are going to be less interesting, that’s just the way it’ll be, especially when that character is meant to be a leading character.
